A slot machine is a gambling machine in casino games. The slot machine contains three or more number of reels which spin whenever the button is pressed. This machine is operated with the help of the lever on one arm of the machine (as an alternative of the button in the front panel) and so is called as one –armed bandits.
Manufacturing of the bell machines – The earliest slot machines Charles Fey from San Francisco, California, United States was the one who devised the greatly simpler automatic mechanism called the one armed bandits in the year 1887. Charles Fey designed his machine with 3 spinning reels which contain five symbols namely Liberty Bell, hearts, spades, diamonds, and horseshoes (and Liberty bell becomes the name of the machine). He reduced the complexity of reading the win by using the 3 reels in place of five drums, and by replacing the ten cards by means of five symbols.
The machine ‘liberty bell’ became very popular and so it was copied by a lot of the manufacturers of slot machines. Thus in the year 1907, a slot machine named as ‘Operator bell’ was produced by the manufacturer Herbert Mills. From the year 1908, a lot of bell machines were inaugurated in bowling alleys, barber stores, cigar stores and saloons. A complete electromechanical slot machine A fully electromechanical slot machine was developed in the year 1963 by belly and was named as Money Honey. It became as the first automatic payout and bottomless hopper slot machine with a maximum of 500 coins, and the machine works without the help of an attendant. Because of its popularity the side lever became vestigial and the electronic games became predominant.
